Summary

UX Engineer with 8+ years spanning UX design and front-end development, currently designing and building AI-native developer tooling at Redgate. I translate user research into intuitive interfaces and implement them in code — from production React and Angular UI to AI-powered prototypes built with Claude Code. Comfortable owning the full loop: research, design, prototype, ship, and test — with a strong record of turning that loop into measurable conversion and engagement gains.

Work experience

  1. 2025 – Present

    Product Designer — Redgate

Flyway — database DevOps · Cambridge, UK (hybrid)

    • Design and build AI and agentic capabilities for Flyway: led the research and design behind the Flyway MCP server, shipped in v13.0.0.
    • Ran hands-on technical friction research on the MCP server — installing, configuring, and stress-testing it across platforms — surfacing packaging, configuration-merge, and OS security issues directly to engineering.
    • Opened pull requests into the product codebase and built a reusable Claude skill that lets non-technical designers create PRs independently, shared company-wide.
    • Co-built “Blast Radius” during Innovation Week: an AI-powered migration risk-scoring engine using PostgreSQL’s EXPLAIN and Claude Code; published a blog article on the build.
    • Designed Flyway Desktop’s Code Review UI — violations panel, rule configuration, severity system — and partnered with engineers on feasibility, scoping which analysis rules could run earlier in the workflow.
    • Extended the Figma design pattern library to cover the Flyway CLI, bringing design-system thinking to terminal UX.
    • Led enterprise customer research (payments, fintech, energy) that set Flyway’s AI roadmap, synthesised for product and group leadership.
  2. 10/2024 – Present

    User Researcher (Freelance) — Askable

    London, United Kingdom

    • Conduct freelance research for Genomics England studies, interviewing Bengali-speaking mothers on newborn whole genome sequencing materials.
    • Design and test A/B flows and stimuli to improve comprehension and engagement for participants with limited English proficiency.
  3. 09/2022 – 10/2024

    UX Engineer — Adsum Technologies

B2B fintech platform · London, United Kingdom

    • Designed and developed user interfaces for a new B2B fintech platform, integrating UX design and front-end development end-to-end.
    • Implemented responsive, accessible interfaces in React and Angular, ensuring a seamless experience across devices and browsers.
    • Prototyped and iterated on low- and high-fidelity wireframes in Figma, validating concepts through interviews and usability testing.
    • Optimised the user journey and front-end performance, contributing to a 65.7% increase in new account registrations and a significant boost in conversion rates.
  4. 09/2018 – 09/2021

    UX Designer — Cisco Systems

    Chennai, India

    • Designed and refined interfaces for Cisco’s internal collaboration tools, improving usability and accessibility for global teams.
    • Led user research — interviews and A/B testing — to identify pain points and gather actionable insights for design improvements.
    • Contributed to a major overhaul of Cisco’s customer-facing dashboard, resulting in a 40% reduction in support tickets and a 25% increase in user satisfaction scores.
  5. 07/2016 – 09/2018

    Front-end Developer — Cisco Systems

    Chennai, India

    • Developed responsive web applications in React and Angular with full cross-browser compatibility.
    • Implemented WCAG accessibility features and optimised performance through lazy loading, code splitting, and caching — a 30% reduction in page load times.
    • Participated in code reviews and pair programming to maintain high code quality across the team.
